Business Development Initiative
Entrepreneurial Training & Development
Our objective is to provide a forum for both prospective and existing small
business owners within our targeted communities whereby they may be taught the
various aspects of business ownership. Thus, better positioning them to create
a thriving and self-sustained business enterprise. While providing classroom
style training opportunities in the "Common Areas of Business", (areas like
accounting, marketing and management) we also seek to provide more specialized
one-on-one technical assistance to the client.
Next class will be August 22 at the Center for Economic Development in Jonesboro.

Small & Minority Business Directory
We seek to provide exposure for the small & minority business currently in existence in our targeted community via a published listing of their services, locations and contact information. We also seek to facilitate cooperation between the individual business owners whereby enabling them to bid on larger contracts and increase the revenue flowing through their companies and the community.

Housing/Neighborhood Development Initiative
The Collaborative for Better Housing
Through the collaborative efforts of Beacons & Bridges, Inc., Habitat for Humanity of Jonesboro and a host of local churches and organizations of the City of Jonesboro, it is the objective of this program to expand opportunities for homeownership by constructing safe, attractive and affordable housing in our targeted neighborhoods.
Recapturing through Restoration
With the assistance of the local electorate and others, it is our aim to enhance community pride via the revitalization of the existing housing stock in our targeted neighborhood. Our plan consists of the attainment of ownership rights in select abandoned properties in our targeted community (at a reduced cost) with the intentions of complete restoration. Prior to ownership attainment, a team of community professionals will perform an analysis to determine the cost of restoration. If determined to be financially feasible the structure will be restored and sold to a resident of the community at an attractive rate and term.
Community Organization & Empowerment
Leadership Development Training
The goal of this program is to expand minority access to leadership positions in the community by providing a program specifically designed to teach leadership skills while also exposing its participants to the various political, social and business avenues by which this access can be gained. Secondly, we seek to transition our program participants into other corridors of leadership training and development (i.e. Leadership Jonesboro and the Delta Emerging Leaders Program.)
Community Empowerment Series
Our objective is to facilitate a Motivational & Informational Speakers Circuit aimed at our targeted constituency. Seeking to empower and motivate through the dissemination of information and experiences of others.
